And the Editing Shall Begin

I hand to step away for a while after my MFA. I can’t say if it was burnout, family issues, work issues, or other things, but I needed time to reset. But, enough with the excuses and on to what folks may really be interested in!

I have started reaching out for an editor to work on Whispered Skirmish, and found a very nice one courtesy of a good friend of mine. (The good friend is not the editor; they just made the introductions.) As such, I’m looking forward to her feedback on my novel to see where I can improve the novel, what feels clunky, and whatnot.

This has been a critical concern, as almost all the feedback that I have received to date has been extremely positive with few remarks to actually help me improve. I sent this editor a sample and she already indicated she had thoughts for improvement on just the first two chapters. I see this as promising, as I am absolutely certain I’m no genius author who scribbled out a perfect novel on her first try (even if it was my thesis/capstone project for my MFA).
